MOW4FREE.COM was started by a lawn service professional in a small Texas town. After 9 years building & managing his lawn business, he decided that he could benefit from having a website. He didn’t want to name the site after himself or even his company. Instead, he wanted his domain name to be easy to remember and attractive to consumers. After exploring hundreds of options, he came up with MOW4FREE.COM.
He set up the program that offers the 6th, 12th, 18th, and 24th service being free to new, weekly-serviced customers. He then took his trucks (including his personal vehicles) in to the decal shop to get them lettered-up. As you might imagine, his company began to grow like a wildfire. He had to buy more trucks, hire more help and buy a lot more equipment.
One day he took his youngest daughter to a zoo in the big city. While he was there over a period of about 5 hours, his phone received 4 emails requesting free estimates in that part of the city. When he got home that afternoon, he sat down and began to send emails to these would-be prospects to notify them that he regretfully doesn’t service their area, nor did he know of a reputable service in their area to refer them to.
That’s when the light bulb came on. He decided that instead of keeping the MOW4FREE.COM name exclusively to himself, he could refer business to lawn services across the country, provided that they exhibit a deep commitment to customer satisfaction, experience & knowledge on how to run a lawn service professionally, and the know-how to identify and maintain top-of-the-line equipment. He developed a system of standards that all MOW4FREE.COM “preferred contractors” (or franchise owners) would be required to meet.
Because he set the standards very high, most lawn companies don’t qualify to advertise this brand. Contractors cannot buy their way in. Instead, contractors are invited to join the MOW4FREE.COM family after our staff has investigated their company. These lawn service owners must complete an application, pass a criminal background check, disclose all of their major equipment, require their employees to wear uniform shirts and provide a stack of customer satisfaction letters before being approved as a preferred contractor.
Once all this is done, that contractor has the right to all the leads generated by MOW4FREE.COM in their designated area. They must maintain excellent customer satisfaction in order to continue receiving these leads. We call it “pocketbook motivation” and we believe it’s the best kind of motivation for business owners. While these contractors don’t work for MOW4FREE.COM, nor are they affiliated with the company, they have signed a Franchise Agreement which spells out how to lose these marketing privileges in a myriad of ways, all of which protect you – the customer, because we know that your complete satisfaction is the secret to our success. Our website offers a whole page dedicated to collecting your feedback. Please send us the good reports too. These reports come directly to MOW4FREE.COM, not through your contractor, so you can be completely honest with us.
